Running-in period

The first thousand of km's of a new or recently repaired (if piston, head, camshaft, cylinder or valves have been renewed or replaced) engine. While in that period, engine must be treated carefully. It applies also to a new tyre, ie the first few hundreds of km. Regarding to the motor, HONDA recommends:

1. Do not operate at more than 80% of maximum speed, in any gear. I.e. you can drive at 140 km/h (87mph), at 5th gear, I guess.
2. Do not use full throttle, in any case.
3. Do not operate for a long time at one speed.

After that, you can safely operate until 8700 RPM (red zone)!
