About / Help on the Transalp FAQ

Not just the usual "Use at your own risk" disclaimer crap

General

1. All the FAQ should be considered as an "IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) stuff". I can't take responsibilities for any application (correct or misguided) of the above FAQ topics. My Transalp pages are personal and always subjects to corrections/improvements. By no way they should be considered as errorless.

2. This FAQ also includes posts (most of them to the Transalp Mailing List or directly to me) written by experienced Transalp owners, without any modification. I used them hoping the senders don't have any problem with the publishing of their suggestions and opinions. If any of the above persons feels uncomfortable seeing his name here, he should request from me to remove his name from the FAQ. No problem!

3. If you think that any part of the FAQ is incorrect, misguiding or incomplete, please email to me. I thank you in advance for doing so! It's obvious for a motorcycle FAQ to be always half - finished. It took about 2 years of collecting and classifying personal or other's experience, in order to build it. I hope I will continue to improve / enlarge the FAQ, as long as I own myself a Transalp.

4. It's not hard for any of you to discover that English is not my native language :-)

I hope this FAQ to be at least explanatory, understandable and useful to all of you.

Explanation of the FAQ categories:

Accessories. It is obvious that this chapter covers all the stuff related to the all the things they don't belong to the standard Transalp equipment. If a particular accessory is related to another listed category (e.g. steel brake hoses are related to Brakes while automatic chain lubrication systems belong to Transmission category), it will be listed on that category, not on the Accessories FAQ.
Brakes. Do I really need to explain?
Electrical covers all the electrical circuit (light, ignition, battery etc) except from the various accessories that use electricity (they will be placed in the Accessories category).
General Troubleshooting means all the questions about problems that a usual TA driver could not easily identify the category they belong to. Look here if you didn't find an answer in any of the rest of categories.
Engine. It refers to engine compartment (including radiator, not including fuel circuit, ignition, clutch or gearbox), oil and exhaust.
Maintenance covers the subject related to the periodic maintenance of this bike (either suggested by HONDA or not).
Fuel line is related to gas tank, carburetors, air filter, fuel consumption etc.
Suspension, wheels & tires is dedicated to front and rear suspension, rims, spokes and tires.
Transmission is related to clutch, gearbox and transmission chain.
Standard equipment, plastics and frame. Stuff related to gauges, side stand, handlebar, paint, plastic mufflers, fairing and engine guard.
